Albany, NY- Denise E. Harris, 68, of Albany, NY passed away peacefully on April 29, 2020 in the warmth of her bed, surrounded by her family.
She was born into a large family, on December 20, 1951 to the late Harvey and Rosalie Bigger.
For many years Denise worked at Whitney M. Young Healthcare Center as a Medical Records Technician. After dedicating many years to the Healthcare field, she decided to do something she loved. She opened her heart and her home to many; she opened a daycare.
She gave immeasurable love as a companion, mother, grandmother and great grandmother,
She was predeceased by two sisters, Karen Johnson and Lolarea Bigger and her brother, Harvey Bigger, Jr.
She is survived by her longtime companion Billy Taylor; her two daughters, Terri Spann (Mark Kegler), Tenise Spann-Gilliam (Lawrence Gilliam); two granddaughters, Shatera Rondon (Rashid Rondon) and Akkera Dorsey; a great granddaughter, Madison; four sisters, Zany Johnson, Marva Bigger, Lenora Satterwhite and Roseanne Crayon, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
