SCOTIA – Denise Marie Valenti, 50, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Denise was born on January 30, 1963 in Newburgh, NY and is the daughter of Philip Valenti and the late Eleanor (Carlstrom) Valenti. She was working as a registered professional nurse for the NYS Department of Health in Albany. She was the family caretaker and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren as she was affectionately called "Mema".
In addition to her father, Denise is survived by her loving children, David M. (Stephanie) Valenti of Ballston Spa and Katie R. Valenti of Scotia; her siblings, Tony (Patti) Valenti of Sebastian, FL, Trina Valenti of Latham, Phil (Michele) Valenti Jr. of Sebastian, FL, Helene Valenti of Albuquerque, NM, Kathleen Brennan of Latham, Julie Valenti of Latham, and Joseph (fiancée Robin) Valenti of Fort Edward; her cherished grandchildren, Kylee, Lanie, Bubba, Alison, Melody, and Lily; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Church, Latham. Calling hours will be held at New Comer cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Entombment will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Asthma Foundation Research Program, Box 0509, UCSF, San Francisco, CA 94143-0509 in memory of Denise M. Valenti.
