Dennis J. Durkin, Sr.

NISKAYUNA - Dennis J. Durkin Sr., 71, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on January 20, 2024.

He was born and raised in Albany and graduated from St. Joseph's High School. Dennis worked for the Albany County Sheriff's Department and then the City of Albany Water Department.

Dennis loved sports, especially the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Before becoming ill years ago, he loved bowling during the winter and golfing during the spring and summer.

Dennis was the son of the late William Durkin Sr. and the late Helen Durkin (Payne). He is survived by his son, Dennis Durkin Jr.; sister, Pauline Brady (Chuck); brother, William Durkin Jr. (Ken Neissen) and sister, Kelly Marshall (Bob). He is also survived by several nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 11am - 1pm on Friday, January 26th at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Dennis will be laid to rest next to his mother and father in the spring in Albany Rural Cemetery.
