Albany- Derrick D. "Slim" Carrington Sr., 60, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Derrick is survived by his fiancé Amanda (Powers) Jennings as well as his children, Tealye (Carrington) Pinet, Shawnn Carrington, Derrick Carrington Jr., Norma Santiago, Anthony Santiago, Donovan Carrington and Aliyah Carrington, his siblings, Belinda, Elijah, Brenda, Gregory and Kimberly. Slim is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 special cousin/sister, Caren Hicks.
Derrick is predeceased by his parents Margaret and Jesse Carrington, his siblings, Rosalyn and Ronald Carrington and his son, Jose Torres.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at, Walls Temple AME Zion Church, 27 Delaware Street, Albany, NY 12202. A funeral service will begin at 1:00pm.
