SCHENECTADY- Devona K. Washington, age 38, passed away on August 28, 2019 at Albany Medical Center after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Schenectady to the daughter of Mary Anderson (Martin Anderson) and the late Daryl King. She was predeceased by her brother William L. Howard in 2003.
Devona graduated from Southern Vance High School in Henderson, NC and continued her education at Vance Granville Community College also in Henderson.
She was a Dialysis Technician at Davita Dialysis for over five years until she became ill.
Devona enjoyed listening to music, traveling, shopping and spending time with her husband, children and her mother.
She is survived by her husband Julian, her mother and step father Mary and Martin Anderson; her children: NiDeja Howard-Greene and Namel Wright; brothers, Jake Howard (Darielle Cook) , Daryl King and Don Juan King all of Schenectady; sisters, Elyse King of Menands, New York and Tameka King of Rensselaer, New York and a very special friend, Deshemia Sanders and God Mother, Martha Hudson. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on from 11:30am-12pm on Friday September 6th, 2019 at Refreshing Spring Church of God, 327 Georgetta Dix Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12307. A funeral service will follow starting at 12pm. Interment will follow service at Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
