ALBANY – Diane (Vroman) Brewer, 63, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in St. Peter's Intensive Care Unit after a long illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Ira Vroman and Anne M. (Keeher) Vroman; sister of Wesley Vroman and Susan M. (Jeff) Corts.
Diane was a generous soul to a fault. In this life she struggled at times, but overcame many obstacles all with grace and humor. Diane was a great lover of animals who brought tons of smiles to her face – especially the therapy dogs at St. Peter's and most of all, her beloved cat "Kiwi."
The family would like to thank many who were involved in Diane's care as of recent as well as over the past years. They include Melissa and Jenna from Clearview (Equinox). Thank you for always being there when Diane needed you. Nurses and Techs on the 4th floor at St. Peter's – Thank you for listening to the family about Diane's care. Thank you to all the doctors from the Albany Family Medicine Practice who attended to Diane when she was in a time of need. Thank you also to the nurses in ICU at St. Peter's who looked after Diane in her final hours. You made her passing as painless as possible.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family requests that there be no flowers. Instead please send a contribution to your local animal shelter in Diane's name.
