Diane D. Groat, 69, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec 02, 2012 at Ellis Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on Nov 02, 1943 in Cohoes, NY to the late Omer and Beatrice Savoie.
She was a graduate of Waterford High School in 1961. She worked and retired as a comptroller for Burns Management in Albany. Diane enjoyed taking vacation and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Groat.
Diane is survived by her children, David and Raymond Brierley; her step children Amber (Mike) Liegeot and Robert (Mary) Groat. She is the cherished grandmother of Amanda, Kalee, Hannah, Skyler and Vanessa. She is the beloved sister of Raymond (Ruth) Savoie, Carol (John) Smolen and Joseph (Esther) Savoie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation 39 Broadway, Suite 2700 New York, NY 10006in Diane's memory.
A Memorial Service for Diane will be Friday, Dec 07, 2012at 10:00 am at the New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
