Albany-
Diane Green passed away November 4, 2021 at the age of 86.
She was born in Albany to the late Mazzie and Paul Torre. She attended school in Albany. Diane was married to the late Artie Green for 25 years, and together they ran Artie Green's liquor store. Diane was a very capable and astute business woman. After the liquor store closed she and Artie bought the franchise for this area of Diet Workshop. She then went on to be a successful realtor in the area.
When Diane married Artie she inherited a large number of Green brothers and sisters, their children and grandchildren. Besides her Green family nieces and nephews, she "adopted" many friends children as well who loved "Aunt Diane". There was always large family gatherings of Greens.
Diane later married Freddy Aponte and they shared 33 years of happiness together. She was a superb hostess and enjoyed entertaining family and friends on many occasions. She made friends from all walks of life. She was a trusted confidante and a very generous person. Diane was civic minded. She was past president at B'nai B'rith women's chapter and received accolades for her work with upstate council. She was active in the local Democratic party and was always willing to volunteer for a cause or any organization.
In the last few years she suffered from ill health and a special thank you for the kindness and care she received from the Hudson Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Diane will be remembered for her hardy laughter, kind words, her eagerness to help and lasting friendships.
Services and interment will be private.
