Diane L. Pierce

March 11, 1946 — May 10, 2014

Diane Louise Pierce, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Ellis hospital with her son by her side. She was born in Albany to the late George and Louise Gilbert. Diane was a graduate of Maria College and later would work as the head nurse at St. Clare's Hospital for many years.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her dear friend Wendy Agley.

Diane is survived by her love, Robert J. Pierce, Sr.; her beloved children, Robert J. (Nicole, and her daughter, Bella) Pierce, Jr., Wendylynn (Brendan) Pierce; she is the cherished grandmother of Ryan, Brandon and Joshua Pierce and Mason Dardanelli. She is also survived by her sisters Geraldine Law and Barbara Biggerstaff and a host of close family and friends, including her dear friend Minerva Higginson.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 7:30 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to meet at the funeral home on Friday morning, 10:00 am to follow to Albany Rural where the interment will take place.
