Diane F. Van Wormer

Diane F. Van Wormer passed away peacefully on February 23, 2018. Born in Keene, NY on August 28, 1932, she was the daughter of Aubrey E. and Marion (Kilburn) Wells. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Richard J. Van Wormer.

Diane loved spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, genealogy and always had a book in her hand to read. Diane rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy!

She is survived by her children Margaret M. (Gregory) Wisnewski of Selkirk; Richard R. (Susan) Van Wormer of Cape Coral, FL; Edward T. Van Wormer (Marilyn) of Albany; Robert A. Van Wormer of Guilderland; Amy D. (Richard) Wood of Esperance and Rose M. Van Wormer of Lake Placid. She is also survived by her brothers Wendell B. (Kim) Wells and Kent T. (Melissa) Wells; grandchildren Gary (Jennifer) Van Wormer, Jessica (Chris) Cardinal, Kelly (Nathaniel) Douglas, Joseph (Christie) Wisnewski, Tyler (Sharon), Jennifer and Jeffrey Wood; great grandchildren Jonathan, Matthew, and Brandon Van Wormer and Emma and Phoebe Cardinal; also grandmother to Paul, Joe, Nick, Dave and Bradley. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Robert (Jen) Wells, Leona (Peter) Rappelye, Adam Wells and Eric Wells. Diane is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Friends are invited and may call at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Thursday, March 1st, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with a service immediately following at 12 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Norton Cemetery, Keene, NY in the spring.
