Dolores C. Garry

COLONIE: Dolores C. Garry, 85, of Colonie passed away peacefully on March 15, 2015 at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home.
Born in Colonie on May 23, 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin & Mary Coughlin. Dolores was a lifetime resident of the Village of Colonie
and an active member for over 50 years in the Pine Grove Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and coordinator for the St. Peters Mobile Meals Program.
She was a 1948 graduate of Albany High School and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. She was a chief bookkeeper for the National Commercial Bank until 1960 and was later employed by Woolworth's and Old Navy. Dolores served for several years as an Albany County Election Inspector at the Colonie Village Firehouse and was a past Matron of the Ella Nicholson Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her sons Benjamin T. Garry and Stephen J. Garry (Ronda)
both of Colonie, and the devoted grandmother to Jacob, Patrick and Todd. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Funeral Service will be held
Thursday, March 19, 2015, 10 a.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 34 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment will be at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Grove Methodist Church, 1580 Central Avenue, Colonie, NY 12205. The family wishes to thank the staff at Daughters of Sarah for their skill and compassion.
