Colonie- Dolores "Shorty" MacCormack, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018 with her loving husband at her side.
Born in Albany on September 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Helen Myrek Searles. A lifelong resident of the area, Dolores worked various jobs, retiring from GMAC in Albany. She loved to knit, crochet and read. Together, Donald and Dolores would go camping in the Adirondacks and Florida. Most of all, Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
Dolores is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Donald MacCormack; children, Karen Gara (Philip, Jr.) and Mark MacCormack (Celeste); grandchildren, Andrew (Alison), Colin, Caitlin (Ian), Ian (Trish), Donald (Lynn), Eric (Melinda); great-grandchildren, Chase, Kellen, Madison, Olivia, Emma, Molly, Patrick and Harper.
A private graveside service for Dolores will be held at the convenience of the family at Memory Garden, Albany.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY, 12204 or to the National Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree St NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA, 30309.
