EAST GREENBUSH- Dolores A. Schoonbeck, age 64, passed away May 8, 2019 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her family.
Dolores was born in Cohoes, NY, the daughter of the late William and Bertha (Johnston) Martin. She was predeceased by her son, Justin.
She was an independent thinker, creative, smart planner and had a great sense of humor. She was a listener, not a talker.
She enjoyed reading, science, gardening, home improvement and taking grandkids shopping. She was close with her neighbors and was an avid artist and music lover. She was committed to her family and loved being a grandma.
Dolores graduated from Shaker High School in 1972, but she never stopped learning.
She is survived by her spouse, Frank Schoonbeck, whom she married in 1974; two daughters: Lisa Seymour and Lucinda Caruso; a sister, Anne-Marie Howell; a brother, Jack Dowd and three grandchildren: Kieran Caruso, Sam and Jane Seymour. She is also survived by her fur babies: Shiloh and Marley.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and technicians of Ellis Hospital for the care given to Dolores.
At Dolores' request, all services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the National Wildlife Foundation or the World Wildlife Fund.
