COLONIE- Dolores Marie Spencer, born August 4, 1945 in Catskill, NY passed at St. Peter's Hospital on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 with family and friends by her side after a long battle with multiple cancers.
Dolores was predeceased by parents, Frances Edna and Irving Benjamin; brother, Francis "Skip" Benjamin and husband, Robert Spencer.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Spencer; niece, Michelle Bychowski; nephew, Thomas Benjamin, as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
Dolores graduated from Hunter-Tannersville Central with the class of 1964. Dolores retired from a long career as a claims adjuster, starting in Washington, D.C. and continuing locally.
She was an active member of the Colonie Seniors, Lisha Kill Seniors and Silver Streakers clubs. Her favorite hobbies included the organizing of meetups with friends, playing bocci ball and watching the NY Giants.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday November 9, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her memorial service following at 12 Noon at the funeral home.
