Domenica F. Graffunder

Voorheesville – Domenica F. Graffunder, 94, of Voorheesville, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 1, 2014 at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Nazzareno and Mary Bagnato. Domenica was predeceased by her husband Herman Graffunder in 1983 and her daughter Rita Donato in 2011.
She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Carpenter's Pension Fund in Albany. At the age of 83, Domenica took up painting and developed a remarkable talent that brought her tremendous joy.
She is the beloved mother of Mary Louise (Edward) Clark, Herman "Bing" (Jan) Graffunder, Gary A. (Eileen) Graffunder, and Dana C. (Leslie) Graffunder. She was the grandmother of Christian, Angela (deceased) Hans, Lara, Rhonda, Rebecca, Gary, Crystal (deceased) Domenica, Joseph, and Will. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Domenica F. Graffunder.
