COSTANTINI, DOMENICK
DELMAR –Domenick Costantini, 71, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Detroit, Michigan on May 22, 1941, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Rossi) Costantini.
Domenick lived in Albany and Glenmont for most of his life. Most recently, he was residing at Good Samaritan Senior Apartments in Delmar, where he made many wonderful friends. Domenick enjoyed growing many flowering plants and had a special knack for making them blossom. He was owner and operator of Sweetheart Flower Shop in Troy for over 30 years. Domenick also worked in the floral department at A.C. Moore in Latham and most recently Marshall's Home Store in Glenmont. In his free time, he enjoyed his trips to play the slots at the Saratoga Racino. Domenick was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Delmar.
Along with his parents, Domenick was predeceased by brother Frank Costantini, Jr., and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by aunts Yolanda Mascia of Florida and Carol Ann Rossi of Albany, and many cousins.
Many thanks go to special friends Tom and Margarita Harman for their compassion and prayers; his co-workers at Marshall's for their continued loyalty and friendship; his nurse, Kate, at D.C.I., and Dr. Kaufman. A special thanks as well to the staff at Albany Medical Center ICU for taking such good care of him during his final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church chapel. In place of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc., 455 Delaware Ave. Delmar, NY 12054 in Domenick's name.
