Albany- Domenico Ieraci, 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 2, 2018. Born on February 26, 1925 in Gioiosa Ionica, Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Commisso) Ieraci. After serving in the Italian Armed Forces, Domenico immigrated to North America in 1951. He first settled in Montreal where he met the love of his life, Maria Procaccino. They were married in 1956 and soon after settled in Albany where they raised their family.
Domenico worked as a Machinist for the Fuller Brush Company for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time in his garden with his wife. His family was very important to him, most weekends would be spent with his brother Vincenzo and his family.
Domenico is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maria Ieraci; his children: Maria Teresa Russo and Joseph Ieraci; his grandsons: Gianni Dominic Russo and Philip Michael Russo and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends here, in Canada and in Italy.
In addition to his parents, Domenico was predeceased by his brother Vincenzo Ieraci.

Visitation will be from 3 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, January 7 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, January 8 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Albany. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
