Domenico Romano

ALBANY – Domenico "Zizi" Romano, 78, of Albany, passed away on Saturday September 15, 2007 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Foggia, Italy and was the son of the late Giovanni and Giovanna Romano. Domenico came to the United States in 1947 and had owned and operated Madison Shoe Rebuilders in Albany for over fifty years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Rosita Romano. He is the brother of the late Carmela Iavarone and Paolo Ruggero. He is the uncle of Felix Iavarone, Dominick (June) Iavarone and Grace (Thomas) DiNovo.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:30 at Newcomer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
