COLONIE – Dominic G. Catalano, 78, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Vincenzo and Teresa Catalano. Dominic was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School and served in the US Army. He was a printer starting at Cromwell Printing and Bergstrom Business Forms before owning and operating Tri-Regional Printing for the last 25 years. Dominic was actively involved in youth sports with his sons and grandsons. He was the former President of South Colonie Pop Warner, a CYO baseball coach and sponsor of West Albany Little League.
Dominic is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Lou Catalano. He is the devoted father of Vincent A. (Pamela) Catalano, Joseph (Diane) Catalano, Donna (James) Stewart and the late Dominic Catalano. He is the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Dominic, Bryan and Joseph Catalano, James Stewart, Tina and Teri Wildey. He is the great grandfather of Peyton, Alexia and Dominic Catalano. Dominic is the brother of Sera Hotaling, Margaret Guadagnino, Antoinette David, Teresa, Grace and Anthony (Yvonne) Catalano, Marie (John) Drexel, Joanne Brooks and the late Carmela Barretta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive Loudonville at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Dominic G. Catalano.
