Dominic L. Ricciardi

COLONIE, NY - Dominic L. Ricciardi, 78, of Colonie, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Christopher and Josephine Cioffi Ricciardi. Dominic was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a pilot of an amphibious vessel during the Korean War. He was associated with Cromwell Business Forms for many years and a partner at Sutin Burgess Associates for 23 years. Dominic was a life member and past president of Fuller Road Fire Dept. and participated in fundraising, parading and all Department activities. He was a member of` the Capital District Craftsman Association and past president of the Albany County Ostomy Association. Dominic began the Medic Program for South Colonie Pop Warner Football in 1966. He also enjoyed bowling and darts. Dominic especially loved spending time with his cherished grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Joan M. Ricciardi.
He is the beloved father of Dominic "Rick" Ricciardi of Colonie and Patrice Ricciardi of Bel Air, MD. He is the brother of Grace D'Allesandro, Beatrice Carr, Madeline Schaf, Christopher Ricciardi and the late Tony Ricciardi and Anne Ricciardi. He is the grandfather of Krista and Justin Ragaini, Kaila, Shane, and Jessica Ricciardi. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:15 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Our Lady of Mercy Church, Colonie at 11:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fireman's Home, 125 Harry Howard Ave, Hudson, NY 12534 in memory of Dominic L. Ricciardi.
