COLONIE -- Dominick C. "Chalini" Bossalini, 85, passed away on September 9, 2010, after a serious illness. He was born in Albany, New York on October 24, 1924. Son of the late John and Nancy Bossalini, immigrants from Italy. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara J. (Arthur) Bossalini.; his children Gail Bossalini, Peter (Marilyn) Bossalini, John (Tracy) Bossalini; and his five grandchildren Christine, Samantha, John, Dominick and Luke Bossalini. He is also survived by his sister Jean Mahar of Hoosick Falls, NY as well as many nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1943. He served in the 104th (Timberwolves) Infantry until 1945, when he was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Germany.
He enjoyed a 67-year career in the automobile industry at Yager Pontiac, Fasset-Yager Pontiac, Marsh Hallman Chevrolet, and the last 28 years with DePaula Chevrolet.
He was an avid reader, gardener and camper. He cherished his time with his family.
Friends are invited to call at the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 2 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday, September 13, 2010. Burial will follow in Memory's Garden Cemetery, Watervliet-Shaker Road, Colonie, NY.
