COLONIE - Dominick M. "Moff" Moffre, 77, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by his loving wife and children; following a courageous fight with Cancer.

Born November 6, 1943 in Troy, son of the late Peter and Emily (Cioffi) Moffre, Sr.

Loving and devoted husband to Barbara (Magnotta) Moffre; father of Anthony Moffre Sr. (Karen), Todd Moffre(Janice), Eric Moffre, and the late Jason Moffre; beloved Papa to Nicole Stoffel (Dominic), Taylor Gallego (Bryan), Dustin Moffre, Anthony Moffre Jr., Micah Moore, Natalie Moffre, Marissa Moffre, Samual Moffre, Jayson Moffre, the late Brianna and great-granddaughter, Mabel Stoffel; brother of Peter Moffre (Liz), Jerry Moffre (Gayle), Patrick Moffre (the late Kathy), Michael Moffre (the late Angie), Felice Moffre , Lynn Conroy (the late Kevin), Donna Gorman (William); brother-in-law to John Magnotta (Pam), and Marilyn Cahill and many nieces, nephews and great grand nieces & nephew's.

Attending Watervliet High School, Dominick was renowned for his legendary athletic accomplishments in football, baseball and basketball that are still talked about today. In his later years, he enjoyed playing Golf and had a passion for Texas Hold'em which he shared with his sons.

Dominick proudly and selflessly served the City of Watervliet as a Firefighter/EMT, and Union Official for 31 years. He also worked at The Menands Regional Market over a period of 52 years in various duties for A.J. Rinella, Decker's Produce, and Esposito's Flowers and Produce. A compassionate and giving man, he was always prided for putting others' needs ahead of his own, and would be the first to volunteer when help was asked. An outstanding cook, he was renowned for his Firehouse dinners and known for hosting excellent weekend BBQ's and Sunday pasta dinners with his family.

Well known for his infectious smile, contagious laugh, and easy going nature, Dominick was the life of the party, entertaining family, friends and strangers alike with an incredible stories or a quick witted joke; he was able to walk into a room of 100 strangers and able to walk out with 100 new friends. His easygoing nature and heartfelt antics endeared him to everyone he encountered.

The Moffre Family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Choma, Dr. Rassius, Dr. Dudek, NYOH, and St. Peter's Hospital/ Hospice Staff for their care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 9 am at St. Clare's Church, 1947 Central Ave Ste 2, Albany, NY 12205. You must park in the main parking lot and enter only through the main parking lot doors. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
