St. Petersburg, Fl.- Dominick S. "Jr." Camuti, 70, formally of Scotia, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Glendale Nursing Home with everyone whom he cared most about by his side. Dominick was born in Schenectady on September 29, 1935, the son of the late Dominick and Rose Camuti. He was a self employed contractor for 22 years. Dominick retired in 1993 and moved to Florida where he spent 12 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, especially his trip to Sturges, ND. His life was defined by his love of family; his children, his granddaughter, his siblings and many aunts, uncles and cousins, never missing an opportunity to gather them together for a meal or to stop by and visit awhile. Throughout his life he gave generously of his time and expertise when it was needed. It always gave him a great deal of pleasure to help anyone who asked. Dominick is predeceased by his son Dominick A. Camuti.
Dominick is survived by his loving daughters Kim Cognetti of Clifton Park, Sunday Verrillo (Joe) of Clifton Park, his cherished granddaughter Angel Muscato (Mark) and his great-grandson Nicholas Mareno, His sisters Mildred Mancusi (Leonard) of Woodmere, NY, Gerie Jenneke (Keith) of Seminole, FL., his brother Gary Camuti of Rexford, the mother of his children Bunny Orofino whom he always loved. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.), then to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hudler Cemetery, Mt. Tremper, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady County, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Dominick S. Camuti.
