Donald L. Butler, Jr.

Donald "Don" Lee Butler Jr., 58, husband to the late Colleen Callanan, entered eternal rest after a brief illness with his family by his side on May 4, 2022, at Albany Medical Center. Born on May 2, 1964, in Albany NY, he was the son of late Donald L. Butler Sr. and Phyllis Insero. Don was a longtime resident of Albany, NY.


Donald attended Albany high school, and worked as a Chef at Paradiso and TJ's Appletinis for many years. He loved cooking, and made an appearance on the TV segment with Mr. Food. Donald found a new calling in 2011 when he began working at Clardon Pools; he loved his job there, and everyone treated him like family. Donald was a very hard worker and he always made sure that he was able to provide for his sons. He loved the outdoors and loved barbecuing on the grill.


Don is survived by his sons Anthony L. Butler, and Bailey J. Butler of Niskayuna NY; his two grandchildren Giovanni and Dylan. He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline of Glenville NY, and two nieces and nephews.


Services will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY. Calling Hours will take place on Thursday May 19, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, with a Funeral Service to begin at 7:00pm.
