Donald D. Duryaa

COLONIE-Donald D. Duryaa, 79, of Colonie, NY died on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany following a brief illness. He was born on December 7, 1934 in Butler, Georgia. Donald spent most of his youth in Miami, Florida and South Carolina. He served in the armed forces from December 10, 1952 until December 5, 1958. Following military service, he founded an interior decorating company in South Carolina. In 1966, he joined the operating engineers union Local 474 in South Carolina transferring to Local 108 in Albany, New York. Donald retired from the Watervliet Arsenal in 1996.
Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathy Elaine Lee.
He is survived by one daughter, three sons and a grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Our Lady of the Assumption, 498 Watervliet Shaker Rd. Latham, NY.
Entombment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, Central Ave. Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hope Nursing Home, Latham, NY or to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany, NY in memory of Donald.
