Donald Diehl

WYNANTSKILL-Donald Diehl of Wynantskill formerly of Saranac entered into eternal rest on January 3, 2013 at St. Peter's hospital with his loving family at his side. Don was the son of the late Earl and Helene Behrens Diehl. Don grew up and was educated in Wynantskill. He recently retired from Saranac School District. Don was an avid hunter, fisherman and an outdoors kind of guy loving his time spent in the Adirondacks. He will be sadly missed by his family, extended family and friends as a caring, helpful fun loving guy who you were proud to have in your life.
He was the loving husband of 47 years to Charlotte Geissler Diehl and father to Donna Gibson, Sherry (Tai) Slagen, Melanie (Joseph) Hankle and son in law James Gibson. Loving grandfather of David, Kimberly, Jonah, Caden, Landon, Jaime, Tylor and Hunter, his siblings Joan, Laurel, Diane and Barry along with many nieces, nephews and friends. A special thank you to all the staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their care and compassion.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his siblings Roger, Warren, Harvey, Beverly, Marion and Joyce.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7PM on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
