LOUDONVILLE, NY – Donald E. Barcomb, 77, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2009 after a long history of illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late John and Eldora Barcomb. Mr. Barcomb was a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country during the Korean War. He was an electrician for Edgecomb Metals from where he retired. Donald was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie. He is the beloved husband of 54 years to Jane M. (Gardy) Barcomb. He is the devoted father of Donna Stevens, John Barcomb, Michele Bashaw (Tim) Davis and Jeff Barcomb. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Bernadette Griffith and Florence Stein, both of Las Vegas, NV. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, William and Fabian Barcomb and his sisters, Margaret Blanchard and Exilda Bounds. Donald was devoted to and lived for his family. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
