ALBANY – Donald Ephraim Thompson, 53, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday June 29, 2009 at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Ballston Spa and was the son of the late John E. and Doris M. Thompson. Don was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed for thirty four years at the Teresian House Nursing Facility in Albany. Donnie enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the Boston Red Sox.
He is the brother of June M. Curtiss, Gene Thompson, and Connie Chorpenning. He is the special friend of Helen Bruder. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Don's many friends who helped care and support him throughout his illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 11:00 at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext. Albany. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9 to 11 am at the Teresian House. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115 in memory of Donald E. Thompson.
