BURNT HILLS – Donald F. LaHart, 72, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 at St. Johnsville Nursing Center after a long illness with Alzheimer's. Born in Lake Placid, he was the son of the late Mamie and Vincent Caputo.
Donald served his country and was honorably discharged from the Army during the Vietnam War. After discharge, he attended and graduated from Youngstown State University. Donald worked for General Electric as an Advertising Executive for 25 years. In his free time, he loved to golf and was a member of the Edison Club for 32 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Gordon.
He will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Joanne; children Kimberly (David) Cummins of Niskayuna, and Scott (Camilla) LaHart of Nesoddtangen, Norway; grandchildren Ian and Jacob Cummins, and Madison and Keira LaHart.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, with memorial calling hours preceding the service from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Entombment will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
