OBITUARY
POESTENKILL – Donald F. Mero, 45, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Born in Troy, he is the beloved son of Miriam Mero and the late Charles Mero, Sr. Donald was employed by The Record Newspaper in Troy for 22 years. He was an avid bowler, participating in multiple leagues at Uncle Sam Lanes and Hi-Way Recreation. He was a New England Patriots fan and enjoyed casinos and scratch "crack." In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Sharon King (Greg), Charles Mero, Jr. (Kim), Mary Martinez (Scotty), Thomas Mero(Rosie) and Anthony Mero. Donald is also survived by his special friend, Karen Peets. Also surviving is one niece and several nephews. Donald was predeceased by his sister Patricia Ann Mero. The family would like to thank NY Oncology Hematology and Rensselaer County Hospice for all of the kindness and care they gave to Donald during his illness.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
