ROTTERDAM- Donald H. Utter, 82, of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully t his residence on Tuesday, February 09, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Syracuse and was the son of the late Howard and Marion Sall Utter. Don served in the US Navy during WWII. He was employed in sales for many years, most recently as Sales Manager for Washington Wall Covering in Brooklyn. Don was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Marilyn Bacon Utter. He is the devoted father of Connie Powers and Bonnie (Paul) Simkins. Don is the brother of Elaine Stauss, Phyllis DeMarchi and the late Corrine Fitch. He is the cherished grandfather of Jamie, Scott and Lance Powers, Christopher, Brian and Heidi Baakman. He is the great grandfather of Damien, Kalab and Tyson. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. At the request of the family, memorial contributions are suggested to Community Hospice of Schenectady or the American Cancer Society in memory of Donald H. Utter.
