Donald H. Hotaling

Schenectady- Donald H. Hotaling, 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Born in New Baltimore, NY he was the son of the late Harry and Nettie (Ginder) Hotaling. Don is predeceased by his loving wife, Matilda S. Hotaling.

Don was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1957-1960 before his honorable discharge. He was one of the first employees of Atlantic Cement in 1962, which then became Blue Circle Cement where he retired. Don was a member of the Ravena Rescue Squad during the 1970's. Above all, Don was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Dianna Wilson and Donald H. Hotaling II (Tina). He is also survived by his stepchildren, Virginia "Ginny" Blue (Charlie) and Tina McConville (Stephen). Don will also be missed by his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Don is predeceased by his stepson, Gordon "Jay" Vrooman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal protective society or a veterans association.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 11:30am-1:30pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. Military honors will be held for Don at the funeral home at 1:30pm.
