Donald J. Romano, Sr.
June 15, 1938 — March 22, 2016
Donald J. Romano Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of the late Thomas Romano and Stasia Romano.
Donald was the devoted husband of over 52 years, to Barbara M. (Davis) Romano.
Donald was a lifetime member of the Nassau Sportsmans Club, where he was a gun safety instructor, and an avid outdoorsman.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by 5 grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children Thomas (Becky), Donald Jr. (Mimi), Jeffrey (Theresa), Barbara Ann, James (Nan) and Marie (Romano) Mayfield. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, his brother, Richard (Rose) Romano, 2 nephews and his sister-in-law Hilda "Heidi" Davis.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 at Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady, NY, all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York 4 Pine West Plaza Albany, NY 12205 or to the Nassau Sportsman Club, 370 Boyce Rd. Nassau, NY 12061 in Don's memory.
