SCHODACK - Donald C. Lyman, 78 of Schodack, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2022 at home with his loving wife, Rose Anne.
He was born in Troy, NY on December 4, 1943. He was the son of the late Walter Lyman and Margaret (Butler)Lyman. In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Lyman and his nephew, Daniel Lyman.
Don is survived by sister, Carole (Robert) McDowell, wife, Rose Anne, two sons, Christopher Lyman and Michael (Jodi) Lyman.
He is also survived by three nieces; Lisa (Paul) Hackett, Sheila (Scott) Sondak, and Kelly (Richard) Farist. Also, three grandnieces, three grandnephews and many cousins.
Don graduated from Colonie Central High School. He was a member of the Air National Guard of NY and Reserve of the United States Air Force. He worked in the HVAC industry all of his life. He had his own business for many years before joining the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local #7. He had 40 years of service with the Union.
Don loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with his family throughout his life. Don loved his dog, Maxie, so much. He walked her a mile every day at the Town Park.
His family is so grateful for the excellent care he received from the Visiting Nurse Association of Albany and the Community Hospice Program. A special thank you to Don's cousins, Linda and John Wilson for all of their help and support during this time.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Don's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights, Rensselaer, NY. There will be a visitation hour in the church one hour prior from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The Rite of Committal will be held privately.
