Glenville- Donald A. "Duke" McCullough, 84, passed away on October 12, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Born in Albany, NY on January 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert and Martha (Stoddard) McCullough. Duke met Sandra J. Rickert in 1948 and they were married in 1955. He served honorably and faithfully in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. After his discharge, he worked for 20 years at Schupps Auto Body Repair and for many years for the NYS Department of General Services until his retirement in 1988. In his younger years, Duke played and umpired baseball. After his retirement, he enjoyed golf and travel with his wife and their senior group. He was an avid New York Mets fan.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra (Rickett) McCullough; his children: Jeffrey (Marie) McCullough, Timothy (Erin) McCullough and Donna (John) Plante; his beloved grandchildren: Alexandra, Andrew, Kyle, Evan and Keely; his sister, Ellen (Jerry) Massago and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 20 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. The family will receive friends and family for one hour prior to mass.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Donald's name to a charity of one's choice.
