Donald T. Noakes

Donald "Doc" Noakes passed from this life with God in Heaven on December 16, 2023.

Doc worked for over 40 years Supervisor of Water Metering at the Albany Water Department, retiring in 2018. He met his wife, Catherine (Wick) from Cooperstown, New York in 1963 and they enjoyed a beautiful life together for over 50 years in a home filled with many family and friends. Doc always enjoyed a good laugh, a good game of scrabble, and a good cigar. He was an avid golfer and a voracious reader.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dr. George Kenneth Noakes and Kathryn Noakes of Cooperstown, NY, his sisters Suzanne and Nancy, and nephews Matthew and Christian.

Doc was the proud father of twins, David (Allie) Noakes of Clifton Park and Dhianna (Peter) Yezzi of Saratoga Springs who survive him, along with his beloved wife Catherine "Katy" Noakes, and 3 beautiful grandchildren, Everett, Evelyn, and Easton Noakes. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother-in-law and best friend Stu Collier and sister-in-law Lois Wick Collier; cherished friends of 50 years, Tom and Mary Morrison and Gar and Ann Lala, along with very special "family" Lori Hendrick of Wellsville and Chris Nye of Guilderland. Friends graced his life and their home over the years.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2023 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie from 4-7PM. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King, 20 Sumter Ave, Albany, NY 12203 on Thursday, December 28th at 11AM.

Doc was a Korean war veteran and will be interred at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
