ALBANY- Donald R. Stewart, Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital.
He was born on December 22, 1934 son of the late Frank and Jean Stewart.
Donald served in the US Army. He worked for many years and was employed by the Teamsters Union. Donald had a great passion for antiquing and worked in the business for many years with his best friend and brother, Frank.
He survived by his children, Donald R. Stewart, Jr., Karen Mongeon (Scott); siblings, Frank Stewart, Virginia Nead (Jack), Kenneth Stewart (Andrea), David Stewart (Pam); grandchildren, Andrew Chevalier, Samantha Stewart, Jordan Dingman, Courtney Stewart Steciuk (Bob), Katherine Dingman; great-grandchildren, Kadeis, Liam, Trey, Jackson, Robbie and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Donald was predeceased by his son, Keith C. Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 7, 2017 from 10:30am-12:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service to celebrate Donald's life will begin at 12:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
