Donald V. Geisel

ALBANY- Donald V. Geisel, 80, of Albany, passed away on Saturday August 14, 2010 at Van Rensselaer Manor. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Richard Geisel Sr. and Helen Kirby.
Don proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He had also served in the Army National Guard for many years. Don worked as a plumber's helper at Albany Medical Center for 25 years. He enjoyed attending the military ball every year. Don was fond of his cats, especially Bootsie.
He is the devoted father of Anthony V. (Terry) Geisel, Michele (Patrick) Safford and the late Paul D. Geisel. He is the brother of the late Richard J., Charles and John Geisel. Don is the grandfather of Brianna, Michael and Amanda Geisel, Louis and Lindsay Russo.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment , Saratoga National VA Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Donald V. Geisel.
