Castleton – Donna A. Bowen, 58, passed away at her residence on Monday May 12, 2014 after a long struggle with her illness. Born in Albany, she is the daughter of Eva Ford and the late Robert Ford, Sr.
In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her beloved husband Robert E. Bowen; her siblings, Robert (Suzanne) Ford Jr., Regina Boyd, Kenneth (Susan) Ford and Eva Hurst. She is also survived by one of her greatest joys; her several cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and children of the neighborhood.
Donna was a long time LPN at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. In addition to her love of nursing, she enjoyed quilting, making women's clothing, and gardening. Donna and her husband Robert enjoyed travelling the East Coast, going to craft fairs selling Donna's merchandise.
A memorial service for Donna will be held on Friday May 16th at 3:00p.m. at Solid Rock Church, 1 Kenwood Ave. Glenmont, NY 12077. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. To leave a special message for the family online please visit NewcomerAlbany.com
