Donna J. Derico

GLENMONT, NY – Donna J. Derico, 63, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Voorheesville, she is the daughter of Theresa Almy and the late Albert Almy. She was a lifelong Albany area resident. Donna worked for forty three years at St. Peter's Hospital until her retirement. She was a great lover of animals and supported many charitable organizations. In addition to her mother, Donna is survived by her beloved husband, John R. Derico and her brothers, Michael Tougaw and James Almy. Donna was predeceased by her brothers, Albert Almy Jr. and William Almy. Donna's husband would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Hospital ER and Community Hospice for the kindness and care they extended to her during her illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Donna J. Derico.
