Donna S. Eastman

COLONIE – Donna S. Eastman, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, she is the loving daughter of Elizabeth M. Garhartt and the late Richard J. Sheehy. Donna was a 1962 graduate of South Colonie High School. She spent the majority of her working years with the State of New York and Pitney Bowes, Inc., from where she retired. Mrs. Eastman was an active member of the North Albany American Legion Post #1610 Auxiliary where she held the positions of vice-president, membership chairperson and poppy sales chairperson. A kind and gentle woman, she had a sense of humor and loved the simpler things in life; friends and family, blues skies and flowers, water from babbling brooks to ocean surf. In addition to her loving mother, she is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Artell T. Eastman. She is the devoted mother of Artell R. (Danielle) Eastman. She is the grandmother of her precious grandson, Caleb Eastman who gave her many moments of pure joy. Donna is the sister of Richard M. Sheehy, John (Andrea) Garhartt, Richard (Marion) Garhartt and Judy (Larry) Benner. Donna is the lifelong and dear friend of Kathy Bilicki, Gerri Robideau, Sandy Kilinski, Joan Waters and Anne Gorrell. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 427 Franklin St., Schenectady. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
