Colonie- Doris M. Desmarais, 94, passed away peacefully at her own home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Elizabeth Hourigan. Doris predeceased by her husband, Alyre J. Desmarais.
Doris was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua in Troy. She was a caring mother and loving grandmother.
Doris is survived by her children Stephen Desmarais (Joann) and Mary Ellis. Doris will also be missed by her grandchildren, Corrina Desmarais, Tyler Desmarais, Jessica Malatino, Travis Desmarais, Karey Drake and Kyle Ellis as well as seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Doris is predeceased by her son Jerry Desmarais.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 State St., Troy, NY 12180. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer.
