ALTAMONT- Doris E. Shumway Fahd, 85, of Altamont, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 19, 2011 at the Inn of Community Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Nutley, New Jersey and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Mott. Doris was a devoted homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband John Shumway, her brothers Edward and Raymond Berry; her son Ronald Fahd and her great grandson Kyle Fahd.
She is the beloved mother of Joseph (Nancy) Fahd, Richard (Rosemarie) Fahd, Donald (Diane) Fahd, Diane (Thomas) Amszynski and Terry Fahd. Doris is the mother in law of Nancy L. Fahd and the sister in law of Ina and Alice Berry. She is the stepmother of Brenda Willey, John, Robert and Kenneth Shumway. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. At the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
