Doris M. Robinson

ROTTERDAM – Doris M. Robinson, 83, died on Tuesday December 21, 2010 at her home after a long illness. She was born October 19, 1927 in Albany to the late Frederick and Mildred Ploof Benway.
She was raised in North Albany and married in Sacred Heart Church. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, square dancing with her husband, Saratoga race track and being with family and friends. She was fond of many backyard barbeques at her home and at the family camp in Lake Luzerne. Doris raised several foster children. She loved to spend quiet times with her husband who was her partner for life. Doris attended Sacred Heart and St. Vincent DePaul Church in Albany and St. Luke's Church in Schenectady. She was a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites.
Doris is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Francis M. Robinson; her son Edward B. (Nancy) Robinson and her daughter Darlene A. (Thomas) Walsh; six grandchildren, Matthew E., James M. (Heather) and Christopher D. Robinson; Bevin A., Meghan C., and Patrick T. Walsh; one great grand child, Cody James Robinson.
The family would like to thank Susan Wuest of Schenectady County Depart. of Senior and Long Term Care Services for her kindness and compassion, and the staff of Eddy Senior Care for it's excellent and gentle care of Doris during her final days.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude' Children's Research Hospital.
