Loudonville-Doris Witte, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, January 24, 2016 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.
Doris was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Greene) McLaren. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brother, John (Jack) McLaren. She was the devoted wife of 40 years to Wilbur (Bill) Witte, who predeceased her in 2000.
She is survived by her son, Barry (Rosehn) Witte, and her daughter Cara (Brad) Olson.
Doris was a 1943 graduate of Troy High School and she remained a lifelong resident of the Capital District. She worked as a dental hygienist prior to becoming a mother, but then devoted her life to the upbringing of her two children.
She was a loving wife, and mother. In retirement, Doris was active in supporting veterans and active duty military personnel, doing volunteer work with "Operation Mustard Seed." during the 1990s.
A Service to celebrate her life will be held at the Loudonville Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:30pm. She will be interred at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville beside her husband. There will be no graveside service.
