ALBANY – Doris Silverman, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Saratoga Care Nursing Home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Edith Velleman and Arthur Winkelman, she lived mostly in Brooklyn where she married Harry Silverman and raised four grandchildren, eventually moving out to Long Island. Mother to Diane (John) Maniscalco of Ballston Lake and Robert (Kay) Silverman of California and the late Donald Silverman and Patricia Rondolet; mother-in-law of Kim Silverman. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to their local chapter of the American Heart Association.
