Doris Torrance Blaise

SCHENECTADY-Doris Elizabeth Torrance Blaise, 82, of the Kingsway Arms Nursing Center, Schenectady, died on Thursday, February 27, 2014. She was born in Peru, NY on September 28, 1931 to Roy and Nellie (Lincoln) Torrance.
She was employed by Fishman's Department Store, Empire Supermarket, and for 27 years by the A & P. She also worked part time for the Heritage Home for Women after her retirement.
She was a member of the Eastern Star #635 and served as Matron in 1969 and 1983.
She worshiped at the Schenectady Church of the Nazarene on Consaul Road since 1976 and served as treasurer for a number of years.
Survivors include her daughter Sandra Johnson (Alan) of Latham; son Rev. Leon Blaise (Barbara) of Butler, PA; grandsons Brian Johnson of Latham, Kevin Johnson(Rebecca) of Hartford, CT, Johnathan Blaise (Katie) of New Brockton, Al, Eric Johnson(Jennifer)of Atlanta, GA, Jeremy Blaise(Lindsey) of Atlanta, GA; great grandchildren Ryan Bell Blaise, Kasey Bell Blaise, Reagan Blaise, Elijah Johnson, and Kendall Johnson; brother Norman Torrance(Anne); brother-in-law Virgil Blaise (Judy); sisters-in-law Addie Torrance and Emma Torrance and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, March 3, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Rd., Butler, PA 16001.
