LOUDONVILLE - Dorothea E. Quackenbush, 89, of Loudonville, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at the Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Frederick W. Quackenbush.
She was born in Upper Montclair, NJ and was the daughter of the late Percy and Minnie Besse Rothe. She was a floral designer and wedding consultant for 25 years for the Meagher Florist and Felthousen's Florist before retiring in the late 1980's. Dorothea enjoyed family, pets, gardening and trips to the Maine and Connecticut shores.
She is the devoted mother of Peter D. Quackenbush of Loudonville and Dean T. Quackenbush and his wife Donna of Albany and is the cherished grandmother of William and Deborah Quackenbush. Aunt of Jack Tuttle of N.C. and great aunt of Johnny Tuttle of N.J.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited and may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A memorial service will be celebrated at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden.
