Dorothea Pina, 65, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday March 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in Albany New York. Dorothea was born June 8, 1953 in Ohio to the late Willie Blake and the late Cornelia Reid. Dorothea attended School 24, School 6, and Livingston Jr High in Albany then graduated from Stony brook High School in Long Island NY.

Dorothea started her own family and moved to Los Angeles California where she started her catering business. She was a very talented woman; she could sew very well and would sell the garments she made to the neighborhood families. She had a gift of drawing on glass as well as making flowers out of cloth.
Making her way back to her grassroots of Albany known to most as Rita but to all as Miss. Coffee. Dorothea relocated to New Haven Connecticut in 1997 where she met her husband Arthur. Through the years she knew that Albany was where she wanted to spend her life, again she returned home. She loved everyone but had a deeper love for her grandchildren and her animals; she could never see an animal without a home.



Dorothea was a devoted wife and mother to her six children. She played the roll of mother to so many people and would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it. One thing for sure if you were hungry she would definitely feed you when most times it was her last, but she would never let you know that.

Dorothea is predeceased by her parents Willie Blake and Cornelia Reid, her brother David Reid, and stepson Louis Watson

She is survived by her husband Arthur Pina six children Juan (Damaris) Woodbury of Chicago IL. Angelique (Toledo) Faulkner-Willams of New Haven Connecticut. LuShanna (Fred) Thompson of Hamden Connecticut. Dennis Warner of Albany New York. Anais Warner, Judge Warner of Albany New York. Step children Arianna Pina, and Arthur Pina of New Haven Connecticut. Brother's Felix Peace Reid, Thomas Reid, and Dwayne (Celeste) Reid. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, Bernard, Qui'Essence, Taniyah, Khalil, Dennis, Jada, Mila, Londyn, Toledo, Tahlique, Tiara, Greyson, Cora, Nevaeha, Joesph, and Abrielle one great grandson Mason, several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 21st at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.

She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street Springfield, Massachusetts next to her mother and brother. Please assemble at the cemetery at 1 o'clock Friday March 22nd.

The Final Flight
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
