ALBANY - Dorothy Anna Siebert, 95, passed away suddenly at her residence at Atria Shaker on Sunday, June 10, 2012, having lived a long, full, vibrant life. Her kind and gentle spirit is lovingly remembered by her friends and family.
Dorothy was born on November 28, 1916 to Earl & Grace (McDermott) Miller. Raised on a farm in Guilderland, she was a graduate of Draper High School where she enjoyed participating in the Speech Club. On October 2, 1937, she married Irvin H. Siebert. She was a devoted wife and mother of three sons. Her faith was important to her and she was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church for many decades. In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed square and line dancing, travel, and wintering in Florida. More recently, she played cards regularly with friends and was an avid reader.
Survivors include sons, Charles (Nancy) Siebert of Plano, TX and Ralph Siebert of Fort Worth, TX, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Gerald, husband Irvin, son I. Ronald, and great-grandson Brian Dawson Jr. Dorothy's spirited attitude and loving devotion to God and family will surely be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 12:00 noon Friday, June 15th at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment Memory Gardens in Colonie.
